Viotopic contains the active ingredient tacrolimus, which belongs to a group of medicines known as topical calcineurin inhibitors.

This medication works by weakening the skin's defense system (the skin's immunity), thus reducing an allergic reaction and relieving eczema.

Eczema is a condition of irritation, redness, and itching of the skin that occurs as a result of the activation of the immune system, although the cause of the activation is unknown.

Indications:

It is used in the treatment of atopic dermatitis (eczema), for patients who have not responded to other eczema medications.
