What is this product and what is it used for?

Therapeutic group:

Desiol contains cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). Vitamin D3 can be found in some foods and is also produced in the body when the skin is exposed to sunlight. Vitamin D3 helps the kidneys and intestines absorb calcium and helps build bones.

Disol is used for:

Preventing vitamin D deficiency when there is a high possibility of deficiency or excess demand for vitamin D
With other medicines to treat certain bone conditions, such as thinning bones (osteoporosis)
Treat vitamin D deficiency, which was confirmed after laboratory tests

You are allergic to vitamin D3 or any of the other ingredients in this medicine.
you have high levels of calcium in your blood (hypercalcemia) or urine (hypercalciuria)
you have kidney stones (urinary stones)
you have high levels of vitamin D3 in your blood (hypervitaminosis D)
you have pseudohypoparathyroidism (disorders of parathyroid hormone metabolism)
Precautions when using Disol
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Decol:

if you are being treated with certain medicines used to treat heart disorders (for example, cardiac glycosides, such as digoxin)

You suffer from sarcoidosis (a disorder of the immune system that may cause an increase in vitamin D3 levels in the body)

If you are taking medicines containing vitamin D3 or eating foods or milk fortified with vitamin D3.

If you are likely to be exposed to a lot of sunlight while using Desol.

If you are taking additional calcium supplements. Your doctor will monitor your blood calcium levels to make sure they are not too high while you are using Decol.

If you have a kidney injury or disease. Your doctor may want to measure calcium levels in your blood or urine.

Take Disol with food and drink
Decol Softgels should be swallowed whole with water, preferably with a large meal to help your body absorb Vitamin D.

Pregnancy and lactation
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
These combinations can be used during pregnancy but only if a vitamin D deficiency has been diagnosed and a doctor's advice should be followed.
Driving and using machines
Disol should not affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. There is limited information about the potential effects of this medicine on your ability to drive. However, it is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.

Prevention of vitamin D deficiency in children (018):
400-1000 IU/day (up to 4000 IU/day) (duration varies according to cases)
25,000 IU every 6 to 8 weeks
Prevention of vitamin D deficiency in adults:
up to 2000 IU/day
Up to 25,000 IU/month
Treatment of vitamin D deficiency in children:
Up to 2000 IU/day for 6 weeks followed by the maintenance dose.
Treatment of vitamin D deficiency in adults:
Up to 50,000 IU/week for up to 8 weeks followed by a maintenance dose.
Follow-up measurements should be taken approximately three to four months after the initiation of maintenance treatment to ensure that the target level has been achieved.
