 drospirenone-ethinyl estradiol - tablets

 Product uses

 • Female sex hormones by preventing ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary) and by causing changes in cervical mucus (making it difficult for sperm to penetrate the uterus) and in the lining of the uterus (making it difficult for an egg to implant. Used to prevent pregnancy

 How to use the product

 • It is not recommended to use this product unless under the supervision of a doctor or pharmacist

 • Take one pink tablet daily at the same time for 24 days, then take one light orange tablet daily for 4 days.  When the light-orange tablets are finished, start with a new pack.

 Pregnancy and lactation

 If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or while breastfeeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist

   Warnings and precautions

 • Do not use the product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or

 • if you have (or have ever had) a blood clot in a blood vessel in your leg (deep vein thrombosis, DVT), your lungs (pulmonary embolus, PE) or other organs;

 • if you know you have a disorder that affects blood clotting - eg, protein C deficiency, protein S deficiency, antithrombin III deficiency, factor V Leiden or antiphospholipid antibodies

 • If you need surgery or if you are away from your feet for a long time

 • If you have had a heart attack or stroke
