Spiriva

One of the antagonists of acetylcholine receptors (muscarin), which is located on the surface of the smooth muscles in the bronchi, works by relaxing these muscles, which improves air flow and facilitates breathing.

What are the uses of Spiriva?

It is used to prevent and relieve attacks of bronchospasm in patients with the following conditions:

    Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

    Emphysema patients.

    bronchitis.

    Reducing asthma cases, and preventing exposure to attacks in adults and children over 6 years old. (It should not be used to treat seizures or bronchospasms that have already begun).

What are the contraindications for using Spiriva?

It is forbidden to use the drug without consulting a specialist doctor in the following cases:

    Chronic hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug.

    during an asthma attack.

What are the side effects of Spiriva?

Side effects of the drug include:

    Dry mouth, constipation, and pain when urinating.

    Stomach upset, vomiting.

    Blurred vision.

    Symptoms of cold and sore throat.
