Seroxat CR 30 Tablets | 25 mg

 

 

    SEROXAT CR 12.5 mg, antidepressant, contains paroxetine hydrochloride. For the treatment of mental illness - 30 tablets

 

How does Paroxetine work?

 

    Paroxetine is in a class of antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

    It works by increasing the amount of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain that helps maintain mental balance

 

Uses:

 

    major depressive disorder (MDD)

    generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)

    social anxiety disorder (social phobia)

    panic disorder

    Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

    Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

    Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)

 

Recommended Dosage for Seroxat CR Tablets for Adults:

 

    It should be taken as a single daily dose, usually in the morning, with or without food.

    Patients should be told that SEROXAT CR tablets should not be chewed or crushed and should be swallowed whole.

 

major depressive disorder:

 

    The recommended initial dose is 25 mg/day.

    Some patients who do not respond to the 25 mg dose may benefit from a dose increase of 12.5 mg/day, up to a maximum of 62.5 mg/day depending on the patient's response.

    Dosage changes should occur at intervals of at least one week.

    As with all antidepressant medications, the dose should be reviewed and adjusted if necessary within 2 to 3 weeks of starting treatment and thereafter as deemed clinically appropriate.

    Depressed patients should be treated long enough to ensure that they are free of symptoms.

    This period may be several months.

 

Warnings and Precautions:

 

    if you are taking medicines called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOs, including moclobemide and methylthioninium chloride (methylene blue)) or have taken them at any time within the past 2 weeks.

    Your doctor will advise you how to start taking Seroxat once you stop taking an MAOI.

    if you are taking an antipsychotic called thioridazine or an antipsychotic called pimozide.

    If you are allergic to paroxetine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

 

What are the side effects of Seroxat CR 12.5 mg Tablets?

Although the following side effects are not common to everyone, some patients may complain of the following:

 

    nausea.

    Impotence or change in sex drive (such as decreased orgasm, erection and ejaculation problems in men).

    High level of cholesterol in the blood.

    Sleep disturbances (such as nightmares, difficulty falling asleep, or feeling drowsy).

    lack of appetite

    Dizziness.

    jerk.

    Difficulty concentrating.

    a headache.

    weakness.

    yawning.

    blurred vision

    constipation or diarrhea

    dry mouth

    overweight.

    vomiting.

    sweating

 

Use of Seroxat CR 12.5 mg Tablets during pregnancy and lactation

 

    If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

    Your doctor will discuss the potential risks and benefits of using this medication during pregnancy and breast-feeding
