Indications:

• Treatment of ulcerative colitis.
• Prevent ulcerative colitis flares from returning.
• Treatment of mild to moderate disease in the distal end of the colon.
• It can be used for other conditions not mentioned as well (check with your doctor or pharmacist).

How to use:

• Take the tablet with a full glass of water.
• Swallow the tablet whole. Do not chew, break or crush in any way
• If you are having trouble swallowing, talk to your doctor.
• Keep taking this medicine as your doctor or other health care provider has told you, even if you feel better.

Warnings and precautions:

• Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to mesalazine or any of the ingredients
• You may see parts of this medicine in your stool. If this happens often, talk to your doctor.
• This medicine may affect certain laboratory tests. Tell all of your health care providers and laboratory personnel that you are taking this medication.
• Drink plenty of caffeine-free fluids unless your doctor tells you to drink less fluids.
• If you are allergic to sulfites, talk to your doctor. Some products contain sulfates.
• You may get sunburned more easily. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, and tanning beds. Use sunscreen and wear clothes and glasses that protect you from the sun's rays.
• If you are 65 years of age or older, use this medicine with caution. You could have more side effects.
• Not all products are intended for use in all children. Talk to the doctor before giving this medicine to a child.
• Do not give to children and teenagers who have or are allergic to signs of influenza, chickenpox, or any other viral infection because of the possibility of Reye's syndrome. Reye's syndrome causes very bad problems for the brain and liver.

The most common side effects:

• Constipation, diarrhea, stomach pain, upset stomach, or vomiting.
• Heartburn.
• Gas.
• Burping.
• Nose or throat irritation.
• Dizziness or headache.
• Back ache.
• Cough.

Pregnancy and lactation:

A doctor should be consulted in case of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
