Fertab tablets:

It is an ovulation stimulating drug

Indications:

• Treatment of ovulatory dysfunction in women wishing to become pregnant
• It can be used for other conditions not mentioned as well (check with your doctor or pharmacist).

How to use:

Note: The timing of intercourse must coincide with the expected time of ovulation

• Initial dose: 50 mg once daily for 5 days
• Subsequent doses may be increased to 100 mg once daily for 5 days only if ovulation does not occur at the initial dose.
• Low doses (12.5 to 25 mg daily) may be used in women sensitive to clomiphene or who frequently develop large ovarian cysts.
• If necessary, the 5-day cycle can be repeated as early as 30 days after the previous cycle

Warnings and precautions:

• Pregnancy should be ruled out before using the drug
• The lowest effective dose should be used before increasing or adjusting doses
• Maximum dose: 100 mg once daily for 5 days for up to 6 cycles.
• stop treatment if ovulation does not occur after 3 cycles of use; or if 3 ovulatory responses occur but pregnancy is not achieved.
• Long-term treatment is not recommended

The most common side effects:

• hot flashes
• Ovarian enlargement
•  
• flatulence, nausea, vomiting
• Discomfort in the breast area

Pregnancy and lactation:

• It is strictly forbidden to use it in pregnant females (it can cause deformities or health complications that lead to the loss of the fetus).
• You should consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding
