Betadine Solution

It is a dark brown liquid, containing povidone-iodine, which has antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. It is used as a topical antiseptic for the skin in cases of cuts, burns, cuts and scrapes in hospitals and clinics.

Features:

• Kills bacteria, viruses, fungi, spores and protozoa.
• Its effectiveness as an antiseptic is not affected by the presence of blood, pus, or secretions.
• It does not cause any irritation to the skin, and does not stain it.

Povidone-iodine.

10%.

Indications:

• As a pre-operative preparation.
• Treatment of wounds infected with bacterial infection after surgical operations.
• In first aid to prevent infection of burns and wounds.
• Treatment of skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses or protozoa.
• Disinfection of hands for general hygiene or sterilisation purposes.

How to  Use:

• It is used externally only.
• Apply the solution undiluted to the desired location, then allow it to dry.
• It can be used several times in a day.

Warnings and Precautions:

• For external use only.
• Avoid using it if you are allergic to iodine, povidone, or any of the other ingredients in this solution.
• Avoid using it in cases of thyroid disorder, as well as before and after radiotherapy.
• Do not use it in newborns up to 2 years of age.
• Be careful not to use povidone-iodine for a long time, or to use it on large areas of the skin.

Side   Effects:

• Itching.
• Redness.
• small bubbles. 

Pregnancy and Lactation:

It is not recommended to use it without consulting a doctor.
