How does montelukast work?
Montelukast is a member of the leukotriene receptor antagonist family of medicines.
It works by blocking the action of leukotriene on the D4 receptor in the lungs, which leads to reduced inflammation and smooth muscle relaxation.
Medicinal uses for Aller 4 mg
Your doctor may prescribe montelukast to treat asthma and prevent asthma symptoms during the day and at night.
Montelukast is used to treat adults and adolescents 15 years of age and older who are not adequately controlled with their medications and need additional treatment.
Montelukast also helps prevent narrowing of the airways caused by exercise.
Montelukast is indicated for asthma. Montelukast can also relieve symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis.
How to use Aller 4 mg

Dosages will be based on your medical condition
This medicine should be given to a child under the supervision of an adult.
The chewable tablets should not be taken immediately with food; It should be taken at least one hour before or two hours after food
For children who have problems taking chewable tablets, an oral effervescent granule formulation is available.
Children 2 to 5 years: 4 mg chewable tablets (or 4 mg effervescent granules) daily, taken in the evening.
For children 6 to 14 years: 5 mg chewable tablets are available.
The 4 mg chewable tablet is not recommended for use under 2 years of age.
